Terms and Conditions for the 2017 Trade Connections Prize Draw

Prizes

  1. By submitting your entry into the 2017 Trade Connections Prize Draw (the "Competition"), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. Eligibility: The Competition is open to any trade connections customer over 18 years of age who sign up for a new temporary electricity and/or natural gas connection with Genesis Energy between:
    1. Electricity connections: between 1 April 2017 and 31 July 2017;
    2. Natural Gas connections: between 1 April 2017 and 31 July2017 together the "Competition Period".
  3. No entries will be accepted outside of the Competition Period.
  4. The Promoter is Genesis Energy Limited (the "Promoter").
  5. To enter: Each entrant will be entered automatically and will receive one entry per new temporary electricity and/or natural gas connection signed up Genesis Energy within the Competition Period
  6. The Competition is split into 1x prize for a North Island Winner and 1 x prize for a South Island Winner (the prizes are strictly limited to each island and will be judged on the address provided in the entry form)
  7. North Island Prize: Consists of 2x domestic return flights from any domestic airport in the North Island to Auckland, transfers to and from Auckland Airport to the Geoff Thomas Fishing Charter location notified to you for a 1x day fishing charter on the Geoff Thomas Fishing Charter boat on the Hauraki Gulf ("Charter"). Package includes the charter boat, skipper, fishing assistant, rods, tackle, bait and food. The value of the prize package is up to $4000 the ("NI Prize").
  8. If flights are not required, the Winner will be entitled to take up to 4 passengers (including the Winner) on board the Charter.
  9. The Winner must contact the Charter to arrange the dates for the Charter. Details can be found at www.geoffthomas.co.nz.
  10. If the weather is deemed unsuitable by the Charter, the NI Prize dates may be rescheduled to an alternative date but only with the prior agreement with the Charter. If the Charter is cancelled for any reason and the NI Prize Winner is in Auckland and is unable to use the Prize, no compensation will be payable by either the Charter or the Promoter.
  11. The NI Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the Charter and any other third party providers, and the Promoter and its related bodies corporate are not responsible or liable for any direct or indirect loss suffered by any entrant as a direct or indirect result of the Charter or any other third party provider.
     

    South Island Prize

  12. Consists of 2 x domestic airfares from any domestic airport in the South Island to Queenstown, a driving experience at Highlands Park, Cromwell, which includes training from a professional driver on how to drive on a track, transfers from Queenstown airport to Cromwell, up to the value of $4000 the ("SI Prize"). The date for the redemption of the SI Prize must be agreed with Highlands Park and cannot be booked during national holidays.
  13. Highlands Park will provide all gear necessary for the experience but will require all participants to bring socks and dress casually.
  14. The SI Prize is subject to the Highlands Park terms and conditions and the terms and conditions of any other third party providers. Highlands Park terms and conditions include that the Winner and companions:
    1. Hold a full current drivers licence (Learner's permits are not accepted) and be competent using a manual transmission. Each party must bring the licence with them when they attend the driving experience day as it will be sighted by the organisers before they participate in the driving experience;
    2. Must be a maximum weight of 110 kilos, maximum height of 188cm and be a minimum height of 165cm;
    3. Alcohol must not be consumed in the period prior to the driving experience and the winner and all companions may be asked to take a breath test. If alcohol is detected, that person will be prohibited from participating in the experience;
    4. The experience is not suitable for pregnant women or for those suffering from a heart condition;
    5. Participants will be required to provide a credit card / debit card bond of NZD2,000 for damage caused through the negligent or inappropriate use of the vehicle. All funds will be released after the experience if the vehicle hasn't sustained any damage during the experience;

  15. The Promoter and its related bodies corporate are not responsible or liable for any direct or indirect loss suffered by any entrant as a direct or indirect result of the driving experience or any other third party provider. If the driving experience is cancelled for any reason and the SI Prize Winner is in Queenstown and is unable to use the SI Prize, no compensation will be payable by either Highlands Park or the Promoter.
     

    Prize draw

  16. The NI Prize and SI Prize winners will be selected by a random draw from all entrants who are eligible to enter and who entered during the Competition Period. The draw will take place on 31 July 2017 (the "Draw Date"). Each Winner will be notified by email or telephone no later than 5 business days after the Draw Date. In the case of email, the Winner will be asked to contact the Promoter to arrange the Prize.
  17. If the Winner is unable to be notified (including where emails are returned undeliverable or where the Winner fails to respond to a telephone notification) within 5 working days of being notified, or cannot be verified, or refuses to sign any legal documentation as reasonably required by the Promoter (including on behalf of the Charter or Highlands Park), or is found to have breached any of these Terms and Conditions, or cannot participate in the Prize for any reason, the Prize will be forfeited and an alternative prize winner may be selected, in the Promoter's sole discretion. No financial or other consideration will be awarded to the forfeiter.
  18. If the Winner entered the Competition by signing up a new connection on behalf of their employer, the Winner must disclose the Prize to the employer.

  19. If the Winner entered the Competition by signing up a new connection on behalf of their employer, the Winner must disclose the Prize to the employer.
  20. The NI Prize and SI Prize does not include transportation to and from the winners address to the airport, accommodation, spending money, sightseeing, additional flights should either the flights or the respective Prize be postponed or cancelled, additional accommodation should either Prize be rescheduled or cancelled, meals and drinks (other than as provided during the Charter or the driving experience), items of a personal nature and/or any other ancillary costs incurred in participating in, accepting and/or using the NI Prize or SI Prize.
  21. Each Prize (including any unused portion) is not exchangeable, transferable (including to any employer of a Winner) and not redeemable for cash and any out of pocket expenses incurred by the winner will not be refundable.
  22. All parties taking part in either the NI Prize or the SI Prize must be 18 years of age or older.
  23. In the event that any Prize (or any part of the Prize) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter may substitute the Prize (or part of the Prize) for a prize of equal or greater value.
  24. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process.
  25. Participants must comply with all requirements of the Promoter including any requirements specified in these terms and conditions.
  26. The Promoter makes no representation as to the Prize safety or other conditions. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) assumes no responsibility for, and excludes all liability (including negligence) for, any claims, losses (including loss of opportunity), damages, injuries, costs and/or expenses, personal injury or death, whether direct, indirect, economic, special or consequential, suffered, sustained or incurred as a result of, or arising in any way out of, or in any way connected with, the Competition or the NI Prize or the SI Prize. If for any reason any aspect of the Competition is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, at any time without prior notice.
  27. All decisions of the Promoter are final and binding - no correspondence will be entered into.
  28. Entry into this Competition implies full acceptance of all terms and conditions.
  29. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to either the NI Prize or the SI Prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the Prize.
  30. The Promoter, the Charter or Highlands Park reserve the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if they determine, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in either Prize. Either company may request a doctor's certificate if they have further concerns.
  31. It is a condition of accepting either Prize that the Winners must comply with the terms and conditions of the Charter or Highlands Park (as the case may be) and respective winners (and companions) may be required to sign a legal release or indemnity in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
  32. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to all relevant state and territory regulations) to either provide an alternative prize to the same value as the original prize or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
  33. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the Prize redemption dates.
  34. No responsibility will be taken for late, lost or misdirected entries.
  35. Employees, contractors, agents and their immediate families of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
