How Power Shout works:

 
We contact eligible Genesis customers telling them they have a Power Shout (some free hours of power on us).
 
Follow the instructions to book your Power Shout for a day and time slot that suits you. We know that things can change, so after you’ve scheduled your Power Shout you can change your booking until 11:59pm on your selected day. For example, if you select your free period for the morning of 15th September, you can change this up until 11.59pm on 15th September – even if your free period on that day has passed!
 

Whatever electricity you use during your Power Shout will be credited back to you. Due to the billing cycle, the credit might not show up on your next statement. If you don't see it - it will certainly be on the next statement following.


Whatever you use your Power Shout for, always remember to use energy responsibly.

Power Shout Terms and Conditions apply. Energy Basic customers are not eligible for Power Shouts.


Keeping safe during your Power Shout

 

While we do encourage you to make the most of your Power Shout, please remember to use power responsibly.
 

  • Make use of the timer or thermostat features on heaters.
  • Make sure that heaters are attended at all times.
  • Ensure that the appliances you’re using aren’t aging or faulty, or have worn electrical cables.
  • Keep appliances with cords away from water.
  • Ensure that you're using appliances in the way that they were intended to be used.
  • Make sure that you’re not overloading too many appliances into one outlet.
  • Connect online with family and friends.

Power Shouts will happen throughout the year for customers on an eligible plan. Simply ensure your email address is correct under the Account Details section of your Energy IQ Profile and we’ll let you know when your next Power Shout is.
