Overview | He whakamārama

Our current innovation programme focuses on reducing risk to people and assets, reducing costs, and increasing the value of generation activities, through four workstreams:

  • Safer Inspections – reducing risk using technology like drones, augmented reality, and remotely operated machines
  • Predictive Analytics – using machine learning to detect when assets are not performing as they should
  • Artificial Intelligence – such as using image recognition to detect changes

  • The innovation and reliability manager are responsible for leading these workstreams. They are also responsible for ensuring that our machines operate efficiently. This involves monitoring the condition of the machines and undertaking preventative maintenance to reduce the risk of failure.
