Our Recruitment Process

It is as much about you choosing whether to join us, as us selecting you.

The Genesis Energy Career Centre has been created to make applying for jobs as easy as possible.

Whether you are applying for a current vacancy, would like to register your interest in working for us or receive email alerts when relevant jobs are available, the Genesis Energy Career Centre will handle it all.

How do I apply for a vacancy?

All applications can be made online at our Careers Centre. If you are unable to apply online for any reason please contact us on 07 838 7819.

Can I apply for a job if I don't have a current work permit for New Zealand?

Anyone wanting to work in New Zealand must have citizenship, residency or the appropriate work visa.

If you require a work visa in order to be employed in New Zealand, Genesis Energy expects you to have this in place before starting work.  

This means we expect you should have investigated the application and immigration process and, if possible, have visited New Zealand before applying for a job with us. 

We are an accredited employer with NZ Immigration and can assist you with your application if you are applying under the Work Talent Visa.

What tips do you have to help with my application?

Cover Letter

A cover letter is optional. If you wish to include a cover letter it is important to focus on which role you are applying for, why you are applying for the role, why you think the role suits your skills and experience, giving brief examples where you can, to demonstrate this.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

A current CV should be attached to all online applications. This needs to be accurate and concise, having the most important information about you on the first page is key – keep it simple and relevant.

How do I know my application has been submitted successfully?

Once you have completed the online process and hit the submit button you will receive an email confirming "Your Application has been Submitted Successfully".  If you do not receive this email please contact us on 07 838 7819 and we can advise you if there has been an error.

What happens after I have submitted my application?

We will review all applications after the closing date. We will shortlist against some set key criteria focusing on your CV, what experience and qualifications are required for the role and the answer to any questions asked.

 

What happens once the shortlist is selected?

If your application has been shortlisted you will receive an email notification in the first instance and we will follow this up with a phone call to discuss the opportunity.

If you are not selected as part of the initial shortlist we will notify you by email.
