The Lake to Lighthouse Challenge is a demanding two day multi-sport event challenging athletes on foot, mountain bike and kayak over 185km of stunning native bush and back country roads from Lake Waikaremoana to the coastal town of Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay.

Genesis Energy Secondary School Hillary Challenge

The Genesis Energy Secondary School Hillary Challenge is taking place 16 - 20 May 2011 at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Centre, Tongariro National Park, Central North Island.

The Challenge is a contest of skill, stamina and teamwork in the New Zealand wilderness. This year the 11 best secondary school adventure teams from across New Zealand will be joined by the 2010 Hillary Challenge Australia champions for the 5-days of challenges. They will have their skill, speed and endurance tested in wide range of outdoor skills based challenges, including a 3-day Southern-Traverse style expedition. In true adventure racing tradition, the exact details of the expedition will be kept secret until the evening before departure.

The winning team will be awarded $8,000 of technical equipment for their school and the highly sought-after Challenge Trophy.
