Ways to pay your bill

When our customers told us they’d like more payment options, we listened. You now have the choice of easy payment options.

Direct debit

With direct debit your total bill is paid automatically from your bank account or your credit card on the due date so it’s easy to take advantage of your 10% prompt payment discount. To set up a direct debit online go to Your Account. Once registered click on the Direct Debit link in the Account’s menu and complete the details required. Or call us on 0800 300 400 if you’re a residential customer or 0800 600 900 if you’re a business customer and we’ll send you a direct debit or recurring credit card payment form.

Automatic payment

Set up an automatic payment with your bank to pay a fixed amount from your account each week, fortnight, or month. If there’s still an amount owing when you receive your invoice, simply pay the outstanding balance by the due date.

Telephone transfer

Pay your bill through your bank’s telephone banking service. Contact your bank to register for their service and to set Genesis Energy up as one of your bill payees.


Internet banking

If you currently enjoy paying your bills online, you can add Genesis Energy to your list of payees. When you receive your monthly bill, simply go online and transfer the due amount.


EvenPay Direct

With EvenPay Direct you pay a fixed amount every week, fortnight or month based on your energy usage. This smoothes out the seasonal highs and lows of your energy account and also ensures your 10% prompt payment discount. To choose this option, call us on 0800 600 900 for business or 0800 300 400 for residential customers.

Freepost

This is a great payment option for those who prefer to pay by cheque. Use the Freepost reusable envelope your bill arrives in each month to post us your cheque.


Over the counter

Visit any New Zealand Post Shop or Pay + Go agent and pay by cheque, cash or Eftpos. Make sure you take your Genesis Energy bill with the barcode remittance slip.


Credit card

You can pay your account online with your credit card via Your Account or call us on 0800 300 400 if you’re a residential customer or 0800 600 900 if you’re a business customer to make a payment over the phone.



Difficulty paying your bill?

If you’re experiencing difficulties paying your energy bill please call us on 0800 300 400 to let us know your situation. There are different options available to make things easier. We can discuss setting up a payment arrangement or put you in touch with social agencies such as Work and Income and the Citizens Advice Bureau who offer advice and budgeting help.
