Q: What is an Advanced Meter?
A: An Advanced Meter is new metering technology that enables us to remotely read metering data from your property.  Unlike your current meter, this means we are able to read your actual usage remotely without sending a meter reader to your property.  It also means that you will receive a bill each month based on actual usage so you can say goodbye to estimated reads.

Q: How much will changing to this new meter cost me?
A: You will not be charged for the replacement of the meter as part of our scheduled roll out. However if your Advanced Meter requires more complex installation (e.g.) remedial work of your wiring etc, you may incur some costs.  Any such costs will be discussed with you prior to any work commencing.

Q: How do you calculate what is the best plan for me?
A: We recommend a pricing plan based on your electricity usage at your current home.

To do this, we looked at how many units you have been billed for over the last 12 months and from this we recommend the best pricing plan for you. If we have less than 12 months of consumption history for your current home, we will estimate the remaining months based on your current usage.

Our recommendation is based on the assumption that your consumption patterns remain the same over the next 12 months and does not include any seasonal variations.

Q: Why have my Brownie Points expired?
A: Each Brownie Point has a life of three years from the month you collect it.  Points expire on the last day of the month, for example points collected on 2 August 2007 will expire on 31 August 2010.
Any points that were not used to claim a reward within this time period will have expired and been deducted from your points total.

Q: I have only been in my home for a few months ? can you still work out which plan is best for me?
A: If you have been in your current home for less than 12 months at the time of the review we will estimate your annual consumption based on your electricity usage at your home to date. That estimate assumes you pattern of usage to date will continue to remain unchanged for the next 12 months and that there will not be seasonal variations in your usage. However, if you have been at the property for less than 4 months we cannot conduct a review as we will not have enough information to conduct a review accurately. Once you have been at your current property for more than four months, you can contact us and we will conduct a review.
