Genesis Energy Secondary School Hillary Challenge
The Genesis Energy Secondary School Hillary Challenge is taking place 17 - 21 May 2010 at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Centre, Tongariro National Park, Central North Island.
The Challenge is a contest of skill, stamina and teamwork in the New Zealand wilderness. Around ten secondary school teams will be scored on their skill, speed and endurance during a 5-day series of outdoor adventure challenges, including a 2-day Southern-Traverse style expedition. In true adventure racing tradition, the exact details of the expedition will be kept secret until the evening before departure.
The winning team will be awarded $8,000 of technical equipment for their school and the highly sought-after Challenge Trophy as well as other Genesis Energy prizes.

Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving - Hawkes Bay

3. Listen to advice from lifeguards
4. If in doubt stay out
5. Be sun smart
6. Learn to recognise rip currents
7. Always use safe equipment
8. Never swim or surf when tired or cold
9. Consider other surf users

Genesis Energy Lake to Lighthouse Challenge
Genesis Energy is proud to sponsor the Lake to Lighthouse Challenge.
The Lake to Lighthouse Challenge is New Zealand’s newest and most demanding two day multi-sport event challenging athletes on foot, mountain bike and kayak over 117.5km of stunning native bush and back country roads from Lake Waikaremoana to the coastal town of Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay.
The 2009 Challenge is taking place 19 - 21 November.
