Applying for a sponsorship

We understand that applying for sponsorship support can be a time consuming exercise, so we’ve developed some tips to help you.

What we look for in a sponsorship

Genesis Energy has a policy of supporting the communities in which we operate and carry out our business. We are a customer driven company and aim to provide solutions for customers needs that improve their lifestyle or business.

When assessing proposals the key points we look at:

  • High visibility and relevance to Genesis Energy in communities where we are active
  • Opportunity for Genesis Energy to be the exclusive energy sponsor and the other sponsors involved
  • Benefits to our customers

We do not sponsor:

  • Events or sponsorships which are harmful to the environment
  • Individuals or families
  • Events or sponsorships outside New Zealand
  • Requests for travel or operating expenses

Sponsorship Process

To ensure proposals are reviewed consistently all proposals are assessed against an evaluation criteria. Proposals are reviewed by a sponsorship committee based on the outcome of the criteria. This process takes approximately four weeks. All applicants will be responded to in writing with the outcome.

Tips for submitting a proposal

We’re not actively seeking new sponsorships because our portfolio is fully committed at present. However if you would like to submit a proposal please do so in writing.

Key points your proposal should cover are:

  • The opportunity and any background details
  • Location of the sponsorship / event and the target market
  • Date of sponsorship / event and timelines including important dates
  • List of sponsors who have committed to date
  • Benefits to Genesis Energy and our customers
  • Number of participants / people involved and exposure
