Consultative meetings

Recreational Release Dates
Genesis Energy is required to release recreational flows on the Tongariro River, Whakapapa River and Waikaretaheke River as part of the resource consents to operate the Tongariro Power Scheme and Waikaremoana Power Scheme. The dates are set in conjunction with the New Zealand Recreational Canoeing Association.
River flows can vary quickly and it is a good idea to check the weather forecast and assess flow conditions on the river before heading out. Flow data is available from the Hydrology website or on the Genesis Energy flow phone 073868113
