Our Projects
New Zealand’s electricity usage is climbing at a great rate of knots, some 2-3% per year. This growth equates to around 120MW of new generation being needed each year. Mindful of this country's ever increasing thirst for power, Genesis Energy is investing heavily in future developments that will ensure security of electricity supply for New Zealand.
Kupe oil and gas field
Genesis Energy is also investing heavily in fuel supply projects and is a joint venture partner in the offshore Kupe oil and gas field.
Rodney Power Station
Genesis Energy holds a number of resource consents for the development of the Rodney Power Station.
Castle Hill Wind Farm
Genesis Energy’s Castle Hill Wind Farm resource consent application was lodged on Monday 1 August 2011 and the application was publicly notified on Monday 29 August 2011.
Slopedown Wind Farm
Genesis Energy has recently purchased the Slopedown Wind Farm development from Wind Prospect CWP (NZ) Ltd.
Our participation in these projects sees Genesis Energy involved in all aspects of supplying electricity and gas to New Zealand. These are just some of the ways we're helping to evolve the future of energy in New Zealand.
