Global Wind day
Embrace WindGlobal Wind Day 2011 gives New Zealand its first opportunity to recognise publicly the contribution that wind energy makes to our energy needs. New Zealand is facing choices about where its future energy supplies come from, so now is the time to take note of where our electricity comes from and find out more about a renewable, free source of energy. This will be the first year New Zealand participates in Global Wind Day, which will be held on 15 June 2011. We are calling for Kiwis to Embrace Wind - to realise the real value of wind energy, how important it is to New Zealand’s future and how much it already contributes. You can’t see wind, but you know it’s there and can feel its power. Global Wind Day is a chance for the country to show its support for a vital link in our energy chain. So now is the chance to Embrace Wind. |

On Global Wind Day, we want to see New Zealanders embrace wind energy by displaying their own mini wind-turbines, like you used to do when you were a kid! In the garden, on your car, or in a plant pot on your desk. Show you care about where your electricity comes from. It does matter after all.
