Huntly Power Station Visual Mitigation

Genesis Energy has undertaken a number of planting projects at the Huntly Power Station to mitigate against particular activities and the overall visual impact of the site.

Planting at the site required by various resource consents has included:

• Landscape planting and bund along Te Ohaaki Road (Helper Cooling Tower landuse consent).
• Landscape planting and visual mitigation bund along the Northern boundary of the site (Unit 5 landuse consent).
• Re-contouring and re-vegetation of the coal stockpile visual mitigation bund (Unit 5 landuse consent).

Other landscaping that is not required by resource consents has also been undertaken around the site and Genesis Energy is committed to maintaining this planting to help reduce the effects of the site on the surrounding environment.
