Realise the Dream
Genesis Energy is proud to be the principal sponsor of Realise the Dream, The National School Science and Technology Awards. This event celebrates, rewards, challenges and showcases the work of extraordinary school students from all over New Zealand who have achieved excellence in science and technology.
Realise the Dream 2010 took place from 5 - 10 December at locations around the North Island. Participants enjoyed six days of excursions, forums and hands on workshops. This year, students visited Genesis Energy’s Tokaanu Power Station as part of the programme.
Congratulations to Bailey Lovett from James Hargest College in Invercargill who was awarded the Genesis Energy Supreme Award at the Awards function on Friday 10 December.

The driving force behind the Books in Homes programme is simple - to break the cycle of 'booklessness'. The areas targeted with low socio-economic surroundings and where children attend lower decile schools. These children are most likely to come from bookless homes. Children select their own books, which they take home and keep. Each book contains the name of the child, the school and the sponsor who has presented the book. We have a huge presence in the Huntly community and we are proud to support the Books in Homes programme for Huntly Primary School and Huntly West Primary School. Our sponsorship currently helps allow 400 students to develop a love for books, the essential literacy tools for future use.
The GreenRig has been on the road since its launch in May 2007, making its way around the Manawatu-Wanganui region and also taking part in Mystery Creek Fieldays. Utilising a ‘hands on’ approach, interactive exhibits and displays and curriculum linked programmes, the GreenRig presents environmental information in an engaging and readily accessible fashion. The messages about the environmental management are key to the way Genesis Energy manages its own operations and assets. For more information visit the GreenRig
