Welcome to the Genesis Energy Hydrology website.
Genesis Energy collects detailed rainfall, river flow and lake level data from around our hydro generation sites every 15 seconds. This information can be useful to many people; from trout fishers to kayakers, flood managers and school students. You’ll find information to help you gain understanding of how rivers, lakes and rainfall interact and ensure maximum enjoyment from waterways around the Central North Island.
River conditions can change very quickly, so the data is updated on this website hourly, every day. Please monitor the conditions regularly before embarking on any water-based activities. Flow data is also available from the Genesis Energy flow phone 07 386 8113
