Ways to Pay Your Bill

When it comes to paying your bill, we have a number of ways to help with a choice of easy payment options.

Direct debit

Sign up to Direct Debit by 31 July 2012 and we’ll dish you up 250 bonus Brownie Points!*

With direct debit your total bill is paid automatically from your bank account or your credit card on the due date so it’s easy to take advantage of your 10% prompt payment discount. To set up a direct debit online go to My Account. Once registered click on the Direct Debit link in the Account’s menu and complete the details required. Automatic payment

Set up an automatic payment with your bank to pay a fixed amount from your account each week, fortnight, or month. If there’s still an amount owing when you receive your invoice, simply pay the outstanding balance by the due date. Find out more.

Telephone transfer

Pay your bill through your bank’s telephone banking service. Contact your bank to register for their service and to set Genesis Energy up as one of your bill payees. Find out more.

Internet banking

If you currently prefer paying your bills online, you can add Genesis Energy to your list of payees. When you receive your monthly bill, simply go online and transfer the due amount. Find out more.

EvenPay Direct

With EvenPay Direct you pay a fixed amount every week, fortnight or month based on your energy usage. This smoothes out the seasonal highs and lows of your energy account. To choose this option, call us on 0800 300 400. Find out more.

Free Post

This is a great payment option for those who prefer to pay by cheque. Use the Free Post reusable envelope your bill arrives in each month to post us your cheque. Find out more.

Over the counter

Visit any New Zealand Post Shop or Pay + Go agent and pay over the counter by either cheque, cash or EFTPOS. Make sure you take your Genesis Energy bill with the barcode remittance slip. Find out more.

Credit card

You can pay your account online with your credit card via My Account or call us on 0800 300 400 to make a payment over the phone. You can also set up a fixed monthly payment by credit card.



Difficulty paying your bill?

If you’re experiencing difficulties paying your energy bill please call us on 0800 300 400 to let us know your situation. There are different options available to make things easier. We can discuss setting up a payment arrangement or put you in touch with social agencies such as the New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services who offer advice and budgeting help, or Work and Income and the Citizens Advice Bureau - they’ll let you know if you’re entitled to financial assistance.
